Danielle Pritchett, MLS

Danielle Pritchett is the Genealogy Librarian for the Robinson-Spangler Carolina Room at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library in Charlotte, North Carolina. With nearly 16 years of experience in libraries and genealogy, she specializes in African American family history, court records, enslaved ancestor research, and uncovering hidden family connections through historical documents.

Danielle is a nationally recognized genealogy educator and was named a 2026 Library Journal Movers & Shakers honoree, one of the library profession's highest national recognitions. She has presented at the 2026 AAHGS North Carolina Chapters Conference and has served as a speaker for genealogical and historical societies across the United States. Her presentations combine practical research strategies with engaging storytelling, making complex records accessible to researchers of all experience levels.

As a Genealogy Librarian, Danielle conducts hundreds of research consultations, teaches genealogy classes to thousands of participants annually, and regularly works with North Carolina court records, including bastardy bonds, guardianship records, estate files, and other county-level records.
