Jay Rosenzweig, Certified Professional Investigator

Jay Rosenzweig is an award-winning licensed California private investigator and founder and CEO of BirthParentFinder.com, specializing in locating birth parents, biological relatives, and long-lost family members. His focus on adoption searches began after helping his adopted niece locate her birth mother, inspiring him to create BirthParentFinder.com in 2006.

Over the past two decades, Jay has worked on thousands of searches, including locating the biological parents of KTLA5 Los Angeles news anchor Chris Schauble, the grandfather of VH1 personality Evelyn Lozada, and the birth father of Radio Hall of Fame broadcaster Angie Martinez. For several years, Jay was also regularly featured on KTLA5’s Off the Clock in its Finding Family segment.

In 2024, Jay launched Finding Family DNA, an award-winning YouTube show and podcast exploring real stories of DNA discoveries, adoption searches, and biological-family reunions. The show is hosted by Jay and nationally recognized genetic genealogist Misty Gillis.

Selected as a RootsTech 2027 speaker, Jay brings nearly four decades of professional investigative experience and a unique perspective on how traditional investigative techniques can help today’s genealogists and family-history researchers solve difficult cases.
